Alien creature is a sculpt made based on a sketch by Ken Barthelmey, originally created for "The Tomorrow War". Although the design was not used in the final version of the film, it served as an inspiring starting point for my sculpting process, allowing me to explore organic forms and creature design.
The first step I took was gathering plenty of reference material and studying the concept.
After finishing the study of the creature, I started the 3D modeling phase in ZBrush.
I began by blocking out the main shapes, then gradually sculpted the details, following the concept of primary, secondary, and tertiary shapes. At the end i posed the creature using the Transpose Master.
After wrapping up the sculpting phase in ZBrush and optimizing the mesh, I exported the creature to Maya for the final rendering process. Using V-Ray as my render engine, I applied a subsurface scattering shader to achieve a more organic look. Here are the final renders, hope you like them!
